Kid A Mnesia: Exhibition is a surreal virtual exhibition built on Unreal Engine, where Radiohead’s albums Kid A and Amnesiac are reimagined as an emotional and spatial experience. It’s not a game, nor a gallery — it’s a visual labyrinth shaped by sound, light, and subconscious movement. Pixela Labs led the lighting and level design — turning light into a dramaturgical tool and space into a shifting narrative structure that embodies the sonic identity of the music.

Scope of work

The creative challenge was to disrupt traditional logic — of navigation, geometry, and lighting — and instead evoke disorientation, awe, and emotional layering.
Pixela Labs was tasked with building environments where the viewer drifts through architectural paradoxes, while the lighting becomes part of the storytelling. From eerie tunnels to white-washed voids, the team built a modular system of level transitions, custom lighting pipelines, and synchronized audio-reactive visuals.
Cross-platform performance (PC & PlayStation 5) required hybrid lighting strategies — blending static baking with real-time dynamics, custom LUTs, volumetrics, and non-standard color systems to preserve the exhibition’s "musical mood."
